Youth-Led Advocacy Campaigns

Through hands-on projects, I have guided youth and college students in designing campaigns and creative initiatives that address pressing social issues. From classrooms to community partnerships, these projects illustrate how young people can make a tangible impact when provided with the skills, mentorship, and platform to lead.

#WeArentSatisfied

A team of four University of North Texas students, including Eva Arreguin and Micah Autry, launched a campaign highlighting the lack of faculty diversity on campus. Their video, shared widely on Twitter with the hashtag #WeArentSatisfied caught the attention of the university president.

As a result of their viral campaign, they were invited to meet with administrators to discuss potential solutions and sparked an ongoing dialogue about representation and equity in hiring.

Eco-Friendly Restaurant Finder

A team of youth created a campaign encouraging Denton residents to support environmentally friendly restaurants. Using Google Maps, they designed a customized tool that rated local restaurants based on sustainability practices, giving consumers clear guidance on where to spend their money.

This project demonstrates how creative media tools and digital storytelling can translate student research into practical community impact.

Do "It" Right

The Do It Right campaign addressed sexual assault on campus through sexual education and awareness. Youth leaders hosted a panel with campus and community resource centers and partnered with the Title IX office to elevate the issue as an institutional priority.

They also produced a video on student perspectives, later adopted into campus orientation—showing how youth advocacy and media tools can foster safer, more equitable communities.
